Flash to HTML5 Conversion
Posiview has migrated number of courses from Flash to HTML5.
The Pew Research Center says that more than 80% of the population in the age group 18-49 years and 58% in the age group 50-64 years own a smart phone. Whereas, Global Workplace Analytics report found that employees are not at their desks for about 50%-60% of the day.
Posiview has created a number of courses in Flash for its clients in past and are now working on converting these Flash courses to responsive HTML5. Similarly, many organizations that have created their courses in Flash are in process of converting these courses to HTML5. It is not necessary that the conversion to HTML5 is done only to make the courses mobile responsive but HTML5 courses can effectively work on desktop. However, a responsive HTML5 course can ensure that your content is usable again and increase ease of access.
Posiview, while determining the scope for the Flash to HTML5 conversion project, considers the following:
Client Requirement: We need to understand the client objective for converting the course. We also need to know if the client is just looking to migrate to a new technology or would like us to work on redesigning the course.
Adding Value: While converting the courses, we can add value to make existing content rich and/or also update the content if required. Instructional Designer can review and scrutinize the existing content and suggest changes to address concerns such as user experience, learning experience, better retention, performance gain and so on.
Finalize The Target Devices: We discuss with the clients and take their confirmation on target devices on which the converted HTML5 course should run – both tablets and/or smart phones and prepare the testing plan accordingly.
Posiview selects the authoring tool to convert the course into HTML5 based on the type of responsiveness the client is expecting i.e. adaptive or fluid responsive.
